While painting it, I recalled Joachim Patinir’s The Crossing of...This work evokes my memories of Mallorca’s coves, with their calm turquoise waters and luminous shores as places of contemplation. While painting it, I recalled Joachim Patinir’s The Crossing of the Styx (Museo del Prado), which I studied closely for its treatment of landscape. Here, I placed the leopard—symbol of intuition and inner strength—at the edge of a pool, a threshold between nature and architecture. Colour and geometry merge into a dreamlike atmosphere where stillness and movement coexist.
